Updates and Such
I have forsaken thee!
I’m so sorry about the hiatus! I was strapped for inspiration, but now that it’s a new month, it’s time to wipe that old record away and get back on track here!
Maybe some of you are wondering, ‘what happened to her January New Year’s Resolution?’ The answer to that question is: I didn’t remember/wake up in time to do my devotions every day, but it did give me the motivation to attempt to get up early enough to have time to do my devotion and everything else. And I have been on a streak with my devotions now, so yay me!
February New Year’s Resolution:
BLOG REGULARLY! (Are you happy?)
So, every Monday, I’ll be blogging something, whether it’s a 3,000 word epic of a post, or just a picture and summary of my latest project. It would help encourage me if some of you guys left a comment or two…wink
Other than my New Year’s Resolutions, I have other goals I’d like to accomplish this month. Remember my post about Habitica? Well, I’m doing some Challenges on there to help me better myself this month.
- February Sewing Challenge: For this challenge, the objective is to start and complete a sewing project in the month of February. For my project, I am learning cross-stitch! I am going to make little samplers (I don’t know if that’s what you call them) with quotes from Newsies and little symbols on them! In fact, I’ll be getting my supplies tomorrow!
- Minimalist Tidy: I’ll be the first to tell you that I’m not the neatest person on Earth. So this challenge, in which you clean a certain area for 5-15 minutes a day, is helping me to get rid of a lot of clutter in my room and in my workspace. Already I’ve gotten rid of some junk, worked up the initiative to clean and display the seashells I got at the beach last year, and re-organized my ‘junk drawer.’
- 2020 Reading Bingo: This challenge is so fun! For a reader like me, it’s a great challenge that will broaden your reading horizons. With goals such as ‘read a biography or autobiography’ and ‘read a book set in a country that’s not your own,’ I hope to gain a more diverse book-love, since I think I read entirely too much fiction.
I also have a February TBR (To-Be-Read) list! My goal for 2020 is to read two books a week (not counting re-reads).
February TBR List:
- The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien (unfortunately, it goes back to the digital library today, and I’m only half-done)
- The Long Patrol by Brian Jacques
- ‘The Religious Life of the Negro’ by Booker T. Washington (for my AP Writing Class)
- Faith is Not a Feeling by Ney Bailey
- False Awakening by Arianna Fox
- Climbing the Stairs by Padma Venkatraman
- Eventown by Corey Ann Haydu
- Power Psycho-Cybernetics for Youth by Maxwell Maltz, M.D.
So yeah, I think that’s it! Thanks so much for being patient, and I will post next week! Be blessed!
